TEACHER FAVORITES
Some teachers at JFK chose some of their favorite books and have shared why they are favorites. Find your teacher (or past teachers) to see if you have read their choices. If not, read one and let your teacher know what you thought of the book! Enjoy!

One of my favorite books is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. The narrator is Death, telling the story of a girl who is deprived of education and books, yet she learns how to read and develops such a strong passion for reading, that she starts stealing books. The message of the book lingers long after one has read it. Words have such power, and whoever unlocks that the power is blessed forever. |

My favorite books are the Nancy Drew series by Carolyn Keene. I love this series for many reasons. The characters are great and I love a good mystery. Also, my dad and I would always read it together at night, so it brings back some wonderful memories. |
Mrs. Grieco
My favorite book is Charlotte's Web by E. B. White. Charlotte's Web has been my favorite book since I was young and I have read it many times. It is a simple story with the most unforgettable characters. Charlotte and Wilbur's relationship is a beautiful example of friendship. |

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is my favorite book. I love the characters in Harry Potter because they feel like my friends. I know all their challenges and triumphs! I love the series because I can follow these characters for seven books and watch how they grow as people and friends. I strongly suggest that everyone try reading a Harry Potter book. They make wonderful book clubs with parents as well! |
